I was walking home through the streets of the city center that had preserved their old and beautiful texture. As I passed by several houses, several people left their books in front of the door for the recycling center to take them away. There is a tradition in the city center that when winter begins, they look until Nowruz itself and throw out anything that seems old. Recently, the priority of this tradition, especially in the city, is to throw away anything that has lost its color and texture. Collecting books and recycling has become a money-maker for some people.
What good books they were. They were worth reading at least once and they were thick. I had not read them either. The book Gothic Architecture, books with white covers that seemed to all be from a library and as I passed by the doors of the houses, I saw that different people owned them. On my way, I also saw a recycling center. They are called waste paper collection centers and I don't really know what happens to them after they are collected.
When I saw these, I immediately took a cloth bag and picked up the books one by one. I wanted to collect them in my collection. When they became too many, I was near the park.
I turned around and saw that the books were gone. I looked and saw that there was a multi-story apartment complex there, full of books. A family of three, consisting of a husband and wife and their eldest daughter, was also there. A few people were also selling second-hand books to this family: literary, art, historical books, pamphlets, poetry, stories, and whatever was in good condition and older editions. It was a kind of book brokerage and collection center. A Jew came forward with a book and said that he had managed to sort out a book with his own intelligence and that he was now selling it 50 cents.
I suspected that they had taken my books. I went forward and gave them the specifications of the books. They were white and I could find them. The family also let me look through the books; there was a book depository there; Books, some of which were pocket-sized and small in diameter and dated 40-50 years ago, but my books weren't there.
They suggested I look inside. When we went inside, I looked and saw that they had a large two-story building, one of those prefabricated buildings that was included in the city's housing plan to accommodate the homeless next to the park. They were smart people; that is, they had both a business there and a family living there. I saw a film they had produced that was broadcast on television. The owner of the building and his friend showed themselves in the film, showing how they had cleverly filmed the construction of the building and sold it. In the film, two people were painting the inside of the building with their hands and simple tools. They were applying cement to the walls with their hands. On the other side, they were collecting second-hand books to sell and were making money without paying rent.
The sound of dogs came from the other side of the building where they were playing. At that moment, I guessed that the dogs were entering the building now. There were a few big black and brown dogs in front of the back door of the building, and they closed it so that the dogs wouldn't get in.
I still hadn't found my books among the books that might have been mixed in. From the dogs' side, I looked through the curtain of the building's window and saw that they had brought a car and were loading the books.
I doubted that my books were there now. I ran to the car, which was loaded as much as it could. I was sure that they had hidden my books and were now loading them among all the other books to take them away.
The woman who owned the building understood right away and came to stop me. As soon as I found the four books that I had given her, it was enough for them to come back to me. When I went to the car's load, the woman started making noises that she was stressed and had urinary incontinence.
That day I found two or three of my books among the loads of their car and with great difficulty I returned home, which was no longer in the middle of the city.
With this experience, I thought about it. Whatever it was, the family was trying to own a house, and the problem started when we had gone to the city center for more facilities. I thought of a solution. I said that if I wrote a letter and applied for improving the infrastructure of the house, maybe they would take more care and we wouldn’t have to go through all this trouble and hassle in the middle of a city where we don’t own a house.
I wrote a multi-page paper and we typed it in an internet cafe. My note consisted of three sections, and all three referred to the same topic. Each section of the paper was a copy of my request to improve the facilities of Shahnameh city of Toos and its surrounding villages, including Kazemabad, Shamsabad, and Kalateh Barfi, so that it would reach the relevant person in charge.
My request was the same for the surrounding villages. The sparsely populated villages like Sahluddin, Abbasabad, and Saadabad, which were on the higher route of Kashafrud towards Quchan, also had to make the same request. I couldn’t find my way to the village heads and give them these copies one by one. I gave a copy of those requests to one of the village women. I told her that if you make a request for infrastructure, they will definitely consider it. The woman took the same request to the other side of the street, where a white flag had been placed with the village chief's photo. She pointed the paper at the photo and started talking to the village chief. It seemed that the villagers had managed to form a new and more modern communication route than ours, which was also more secure. Because it was pristine, special, and visual, it seemed completely more up-to-date than ours, and there was less possibility of the enemy eavesdropping and infiltrating it.

Mahan had a cold. He had the same flu that they say is very dangerous. I left him with my sister so I could go to the nostalgia class I was invited to.
We had studied at an all-girls college. Yesterday, the same college had a sports class where I saw a few of my old classmates and friends there. They had raised their children and now had the opportunity to sit in a class like me.
We shared a goal together, which was to strengthen our muscles. We sat at a table together and after we had completed the theoretical part of the lesson, they gave us the opportunity to practice.
Her class was very much like a home gym. They had made the prayer room available to us in the afternoon for practice. They had set up a pull-up bar somewhere, and I finally got my turn with great interest after a few others. I was almost the last one to do pull-ups.
When I got back, I searched my tent to find a robe. When I arrived early in the afternoon, I had left my black chador (veil) in the prayer line in the entrance courtyard, and I would probably find it there when I returned.
The room opposite the guard at the entrance was a room with trees and an old design, which had a special intimacy with its stained glass and old design and a twelve-meter-long carpet that they had spread out. When I was a student, we sometimes prayed there, and it was more like a prayer room.
I went there to look around.
I was upset that the walls where they had installed sockets up to a meter long had been watered and soaked, which meant that they were old and needed to be rebuilt.
I found my chador folded right there in the courtyard. I also saw my friend who had come to see me from training. He himself said that he had been taller than me since he was twelve and that he had trained a lot for martial arts.
My friend had left much earlier than us. I think he still had unfinished work and had placed these wonderful classes in the middle because he liked them.

A few days ago, my husband took the shovel to go pick tomatoes with the boys who had stayed behind. The tomatoes in our city taste different from the others and are more sour. I like this taste better.
My husband's friend wanted us to go to a conference on agriculture and food industry instead. Imam Reza had really invited us. Otherwise, we would have been talking about Mashhad a few hours before we decided to go.
We bought a train ticket to Mashhad. I quickly packed my travel bag and the children's bags to go on pilgrimage.
On the train, the carriage attendant checked our tickets and told us to go to compartment number three.
We boarded the train. We put our bags and suitcases on top of the compartment and sat down.
There was a flask of boiling water and four cups on the table. We ate them quickly so that Hekmat wouldn't open them and spill the tea. These days, he spares no effort to attract attention. When the train attendant took the cups, I was already taking the cups from the basket.
On the way to Mahan, he had chosen the window next to the compartment. He also saw a lot of sheep and goats and waved to them all.
I did a little bit of grave-visiting and showed Hikmat a few photos of the golden dome of the Imam Reza shrine. The kids were excited about the trip themselves.
When the train reached Neyshabur, we knew that we would be in Mashhad in an hour.
We arrived in Mashhad on time and the first place we went was the Imam Reza shrine. I told Hikmat that we would greet the master like this:
As-salaam alik ya Imam Reza
Hikmat’s eyes fell on the pigeons of the Imam Reza shrine and he looked at them so much that I said, “Now one is coming to sit on my head.”
After an hour of rest, I showed the kids the photos of the tomato paste factory. The conference venue was the Behdis Paste Factory, which took us an hour to get there. I found a few beautiful photos that I showed the kids before leaving so that they would have a taste of it when we got there.
We had a good visit. It was the first time Mahan saw a lot of big bulk paste in big packages. I left you something like this:
The most beautiful tomato paste factory
Seeing a lot of tomatoes and big blue packages of tomato paste, all in one place, has a lot of bags. Even though I had made sun paste, it was interesting to see how they produce tomato paste without mold.
The factory manager explained that we deliver the tomato paste ingredients in aseptic packaging. Aseptic is a process that prevents microorganisms from entering the package during and after packaging.
Finally, we bought a 5-kilogram tomato paste as a souvenir and I was happy that our trip was not just a pilgrimage. Although it would have been enough if we had only gone for a pilgrimage.
Right there, because the paste factory was near the Bread Museum and we had nothing else to do before two o'clock, we went straight to the Bread Museum opposite the Behdis Paste Factory. Like the Behdis Paste Factory, the Bread Museum is on 14 Shahnameh Street. Mahan was very excited about the water and the water mill and all the steps from planting wheat to turning it into Sangak and Berber bread.
Our whole day was gone when we went.
We wanted to add two or three more days to our trip because Mahan had classes and school and we couldn't. There was still time for the Ferdowsi Mausoleum Museum, the Third Brotherhood (Akhavan-e Sales), Shajarian and Ghazali, so we didn't have time to go in the same day. Jurassic Park was also a real shame. It was the same way. There was only a park in front of Ferdowsi's tomb that we took pictures of.
My husband had taken a leave of absence. Finally, we went to the Imam Reza Shrine and a beautiful card from one of these cards with the inscription "Assalamu Alaik ya Ali ibn Musa al-Reza al-Murtada" on it, where the dot "B" was red and the last dot "Murtaza" was also red came to Mahan and we returned happy.

One of my favorite shops is the fruit and vegetable shop. Our place has a fruit shop that has so many kinds of fruits and vegetables in its shop that it has everything you want. It always has a series of fruit cuts and slices that when Mahan was a child, I used to buy beautiful fruits from it that I wanted to buy for Hekmat's beauty. It is very convenient. It has dragon fruits, oranges apples, physalis melons and all kinds of colorful and funny fruits. In short, I love shopping a lot with the variety of fruits. When I went to the fruit shop to buy mint and vegetables for dinner tonight, I saw how many fresh pomegranates had arrived at the market. Then I saw how many watermelons they had brought for Yalda night. Broccoli is good for osteoporosis. It is less bloated than kale and cauliflower, and I occasionally include it in my diet. I bought some broccoli with bell peppers. I just didn't know how to buy some vegetable soup with it. I was happy to buy oranges, but I didn't have time and I wanted to go to the library with him.
Mahan had borrowed a few children's books from the library that I wanted to return. I went to the library and put the plastic bag of vegetables on the floor by the counter, and then I put the heavy plastic bag full of children's books on the table and asked: "Excuse me, can I renew these?"
It's still the first day of the school year and Mahan has plenty of time to get bored. I had to entertain him somehow, and what's better is that he would be more entertained with the books he had chosen before the air pollution.
After I returned the books, I went to cook fish for today's lunch.
Professor Ahu talked about how to cook fish in class, and it came to the point that Ahu said he didn't like salmon because it tasted too fishy, and the professor said maybe it wasn't cooked well. Ahu said he didn't like the taste of salmon at all, and the professor asked him to bring them fish. I welcomed him and bought salmon and made him sabzi pilaf with fish. I put saffron.
Mahan is now in fourth grade, which is great for him in this polluted air. I went to his school to ask if this is really the school program from third grade onward, is it like this this year and do they want to charge more money?
Yesterday, all the power plants in the city were burning diesel fuel, and I had tears in my eyes as I went to Mahan's school. It was clear that it was from the power plants that had been burning 100% diesel fuel since the first of October, which I think is 100%.
I came to ask the mother of two of the children, who also has an older child, if they had extracurricular activities in previous years at this school? She said that extracurricular activities are always there and they prepare the children for the SAMPAD and the government exam next year.
I said, "Huh, so it was like this in previous years too."
I remembered that these things weren't our time at all. Our extracurricular activities were educational. We ourselves spontaneously liked to perform in shows and theater to get ahead.
I myself performed a play that included poetry, songs, weddings, and drumming. Our song became so popular among the children that after our performance, everyone would dance to it when we went to school.
